I posted this on Nabble, but didn't see it yet.

An earlier poster had this same problem....send but can't receive.
I know it's not caused by noise problems. I have used a previous version of Wish for about 18 months with great success. This week I built a new system on FC4 and installed x10dev-2.1.3. I took the USB dongle and my CM11a from my working RH9 box (sending and receiving) and moved over to my FC4 box. Transmits are great..no receives tho. I moved back this morning to verify receives...and yeah...they're there.
I also moved the CM11a to TTYS0 this morning with no improvement.
Thoughts?
Thanks for any help
Scott

Nabble?

I do remember someone sending me an email about a year ago about this same problem. I never had to fix anything because a few days later the person wrote that they found the problem and it was with something in their configuration of the new server that they had built.

Your email does suggest that the problem is with 2.1.3 since it worked with previous versions. On the machine that it works on, can you upgrade to 2.1.3 and see if the problem follows the version of x10dev?

Thanks for the quick response the other day Scott.
We went thru and updated a bunch of stuff on the system and have some pretty
good progress...I think. However...I still can't receive. I moved the
CM11a over to ttys0...problems with USB after the kernel upgrade to
2.6.15-1.1833_FC4. I turned on debug on cm11ad.
When I hit a button on an RF transmitter I get the following output in
messages file. This would've been an M5 on if I'm not mistaken.
Mar 13 17:15:58 vprlinux cm11ad[3649]: sent CM11A_POLLACK
Mar 13 17:15:58 vprlinux cm11ad[3649]: updateack: 5
Mar 13 17:15:58 vprlinux cm11ad[3649]: updateack: 10
Mar 13 17:15:58 vprlinux cm11ad[3649]: updateack: 1
Mar 13 17:15:58 vprlinux cm11ad[3649]: updateack: 2
Mar 13 17:15:58 vprlinux cm11ad[3649]: updateack: 1
Mar 13 17:15:58 vprlinux cm11ad[3649]: updateack: 2

But I'm still not fully processing the event.
Does this help any?

Thanks
Scott

This is very interesting. The responses you are getting indicate that you
are getting a whole bunch of ACKs to the device. I know this is going to
sound stupid, but try this. Remove the batteries from the CM11A and unplug
it from the wall. Wait 20 seconds or so, then plug it back in without the
batteries. Now start the CM11A drivers with debug turned on and see what
you get.

I have seen this situation once when I was developing the code and it was
because the CM11A was sending continuous ACKs. Resetting everything seemed
to fix the situation when I was developing the code but I never was able to
reproduce it to figure out what was causing it.

Disclaimer: This is just a hunch and does not attempt to represent good
troubleshooting methodology.

Scott...
I tried a few combinations of power off. Removed batteries, unplugged,
shut down linux, (and all at the same time). I still get the following
output.

Maybe I need to toss the CM11a out the window. :)
