I want to send a "preset dim" command to my lamp module. I have tryed
with "echo null > /dev/x10/a3; echo pdimlow > /dev/x10/g" and with
"echo ps11 > /dev/x10/a3", but it don't runs. I send the echo and the
light don't change her bright. But I run "cat /dev/x10/a3" and it change
to "32".
I tryed with echo - > /dev/x10/a3 and echo + > /dev/x10/a3 and it seems
to run OK.

Does your lamp module support preset dims? Preset dimming is an optional
X10 feature so many X10 devices do not support it. Normal dimming with + or
- is part of the X10 standard functionality for lights. If your lamp
specifically says that it supports preset dimming (aka scenes), then preset
dims should work.

The status in the system is updated because the system does not know that
the light does or does not support dimming.

At the moment, I believe that the problem is in the options that are used to
compile the drivers. When I went to version 2.0 for the beta, I couldn't
figure out how to extract the compile options for the current version. I am
working on a makefile for 2.4 and a separate one for 2.6 which will capture
the compile flags for your specific architecture.

But, this is a ways off as I am swamped at the moment.

Hi Scott,
My lamp module don't support preset dim. Thank you.
Another question: Do you think will be better for me to
change my epia
processor-motherboard for a Pentium machine to use the 2.0
version??? I
am interested to use the 2.0 version, because it is faster. Thanks.
