Thanks to Toby T for finding a bug in the parser for the commands when
sending controls to the drivers from C code. I was not testing for a
trailing string terminator so commands could have random data at the end of
them.
This is fixed in version 1.6.9. Remember that if you use the automated
install scripts to remove the /lib/modules/<version>/kernel/drivers/char/x10
directory. The new drivers go in
/usr/local/lib/modules/<version>/kernel/drivers/char/x10 to solve the
problem with HID taking over the port and locking the driver into an
initialization loop.
